A Bit About Me

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to my blog, My Window on the World.  I came up with this phrase while I was recovering from a severe injury. My recovery seemed to drag on & on as they sometimes do. It seemed that I was watching the world through my window. I was watching the world go by & the seasons change. My tag line is pretty self-explanatory, “What I See, How I See It, & How I feel About It”. Although I’m no longer restricted to looking out that window, my observations, whether about the world or home life, that I feel are interesting, noteworthy,  inspirational, or quirky, I will share with you. I hope you enjoy your visits here. Feel free to leave a comment or opinion. I’d love to hear what you think.

ABOUT ME:  I’m a happily married mother of 6 grown children, 4 boys & 2 girls (8 counting step-kids! –a girl & a boy), & proud Grammy to 18! LOL!

I’m currently enrolled in a Freelance Writer’s Course. I plan to mainly write nonfiction, magazine articles but don’t rule out fiction.

Most recently I was a Nurse (until I hurt my back & developed severe arthritis). Previously I had worked as:  a Tafco brand cooler/freezer installer & made commercial deliveries for them as well. I’ve helped my husband run his Refrigeration & Air Conditioning business, worked for a Surveying company mostly as Secretary/Bookkeeper but also occasionally as a ‘Rod Man”. I’ve also waitress-ed, bar-tended, sold home fire alarms, vacuum cleaners, Tupperware, Melaleuca, Mary Kay & picked asparagus. Shortly after high School I worked as Executive Secretary to the Vice-President of  Engineering but I started out as Secretary to the President of a Construction & Ready-Mix Company. I think that’s about it for all the different hats I have worn.

BRAGGING RIGHTS:
Well, there’s those 6 kids and the 18 Grandchildren. :) My hubby & I have been married for over 20 years. :) I graduated at the top of my class in Nursing School & scored highest in my class on the State NCLEX  licensing exam. Also, I’m proud of myself for being able to drive the big. 10-wheeled truck, with a 30-ft box & a “jake” brake.
